Elsa Forberger Robotics, Rockets, and Moon Rocks

Hey there! I'm Elsa.

I currently work at Blue Origin on Blue Alchemist, a Lunar ISRU R&D project.

My background is in robotics, and I have a particular interest in robotic resilency and planning despite faults.

In 2024, I graduated with my M.S. in robotics from the University of Minnesota, where I had a fantastic time working on fault detection of the TRIDENT lunar drill under Professor Maria Gini.

Prior to working with Professor Gini, I spent several years researching one-shot gesture recognition for underwater robots under Professor Junaed Sattar. (And got to swim with a lot of robots in the process!)

I have also worked with Professor John Zimmerman at Carnege Mellon University on human responses to robot re-embodyment and personalization.

In my spare time, I like to build and fly high-powered rockets.
